I’ve lived in Utah most of my life. One day I realized that people come from all over the world to ride our trails, and I had never been mountain biking. I decided to see what the sport was all about, and I fell in love with it. From the high deserts of Moab to the forest trails in the North, Utah has some of the best rides in the world.

Bikes are one of the most efficient and effective modes of travel ever invented. They are great exercise. They are inexpensive. Most of all, they take advantage of the most plentiful, abundant energy source in the world: the stored-up energy around our mid-sections! :)

I’ve never been a big road biker. I commute often to work on my “nerd” bike, the Giant Revive. Other than commuting, I generally hit the off-road trails with my Reign.

My Wish List

  • More bike trails in America, especially bicycle-only trails through cities so bikers can commute more safely.

(that’s it when it comes to bikes!)

Staying Safe

The biggest worry of a biker is getting hit by a car. Here’s a few sites that can improve your chances of staying safe:

http://bicyclesafe.com/ – Excellent site with scenarios and diagrams.
http://www.kenkifer.com/bikepages/commute/tricks.htm – Useful tricks for commuters. All-around good site to spend your downtime in.

Photos

I’ll post some when summer rolls around and I get my camera out.
