My wife and I started watching SG1 which is great. Still though we were surprised at the very liberal use of female nudity in the pilot episode. I've read that scene was cut in a later DVD release, but it was there in the copy we got from Netflix. Talk about unexpected.

I'm also a huge fan of Firefly. I wish they would make a second season. I guess it still had it's racy moments as well. The follow up movie Serenity was just as good as the series.

Everyone should probably check out Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog on Hulu. It's got Nathan Fillion (Mal). He cracks me up.

You know, i watched SG1 and totally agree with you, the only show i watch now that i am not saying is as good as SG1 is a show called Heroes. I agree with wanting to watch shows that bring the good out in people and give a positive bright hope for the future.

I stopped watching Stargate.Useless last week. The plot was *so* predicatable and I still don't know who most of the characters are. That's okay though. None of them seem particularly appealing, sadly. 8-(

I have also been greatly saddened and disgusted by the disintegration of the moral code of the sci- fi universe. I use to read star trek books by the foot. However, after the shows ended, the authors were unrestrained to uphold the moral code of the characters and the universe. They now seem intent on using cheap thrills to sell books rather then solid story and moral code. I can no longer read star trek books with the exception of a few good authors.
On a happier note for sci-fi fans, the star wars book universe is still regulated by George Lucas.

Just so you know, I may quote you some day- i thought it was so true when you said

"Are we really that low of losers that we have to watch others get thrills?"

Great insight.

I'm a Voyager fan myself, the first few episodes of TGN were really weird. Janeway followed the same prime directive as Picard. You always knew that they would do the right thing, no matter the situation.

I've recently discovered the SG1 series on Hulu. As a big Star Trek fan, it's been great to see a new (new to me) sci-fi show. O'Neil and the other SG members follow a similar moral code to that of the Star Trek universe.

Recently I watched the 3rd episode of SG: Universe, it was probably the precursor to the 4th episode because I saw to a short sex scene. It was uncomfortable and the scene didn't further the plot at all. I haven't watched the 4th episode and I don't plan on watching any of the rest of them. It's too bad because I think the SG: Universe core plot, being trapped on a automated alien ship with the only out being the Stargate, is excellent.

I think it's interesting how big a deal the swine flu has become. Like Conan said, it's not as bad as some of the regular flu's they've caught. According to Maddox "The common flu kills way more people and by extension is way more awesome."

I also agree that the vaccine is not worth getting. I read on Drudge that it messed up quite a few people's nervous systems. Who knows what they put in those things!

I thought Macs didn't have those problems. :) No, really, Time Machine sounds pretty sweet. When it comes down to it and you have to reformat, it'd be great to have that sort of utility at your side.

It seem slightly more snappy, but other than that, I haven't seen any differences yet. I'll let you know when I have more time with it.
